We had a blast producing the 1st Hokkien telemovie for Astro Hua Hee Dai! It was a rush, rushjob indeed as it was confirmed towards the end of the 2010. Shooting for 7 days in December.

The story is about 2 families living in Hua Hee Village who hate each other. But the funny thing is, they both own and operate "kedai runcit" -- grocery shops -- which are located side by side!
The first couple is Ho Ho, a rich, cunning and arrogant man, and his wife, Ah Huei, who loves to dress up, makeup, go to the hair salon, and wear jewelry.
Their neighbour is Liau Pun, a tall and thin man who is fearful of his short, big-mouthed, and loud-voiced wife, Ah Hong.
Ah Huat is Ah Hong's loyal, single brother who works in their shop. 
Ah Poh is Ho Ho's unmarried sister who stays with him and works in the shop too.
Both Ah Huat and Ah Poh are always finding fault with each other too.
Li Li is the brainy, studious and only daughter of Liau Pun and Ah Hong. She will be sent to Australia to further her studies.
Hock Kee is the precious, only son of Ho Ho and Ah Huei. He is crazy about Super Junior and popstars. He does not wish to continue his studies but wants to be a singer.
Their neighbours take advantage of the 2 families' rivalry. One day, a neighbour suggested that they compete for a 1-day Chinese New Year sales to see who can sell off their items the fastest. The loser must close their shop for 1 day.
And so the tight competition begins! Haha!
